Currently Making Sweater Dresses out of my Knits Stash to keep off the Chill Always, I make the earrings and scarves and then the rest of the dress is fast. The sweater dress I like is composed of many pattern pieces that I like. The bodice from a combination of a dress pattern, and a sweater pattern and sleeve.   Simplicity 2189 dress and length and over lay of sweater pattern Kwik Sew 4069- for sweater fit at top and necklines. The collar from another sweater pattern.   Kwik Sew 4217 The pockets from a pattern piece I keep out because of the size and shape that suits me.  Pocket pieces I like pinned to a burlap type upholstery fabric panel that I use for a back drop for repeat pieces and guitar charts and guitars.   Earrings are covered buttons, that I have pulled the shank out, covered and then glued an earring back on that I buy in bulk.  This Tote Is also from some leftovers, but the pizza was intentianally bought for this. These two are in the works..

 When you have leftovers sew them together The prequilted left over fabric makes a nice tote. Cut the vinyl lining of the inside of the tote, the piece will be a couple of inches longer on each end. Cut the vinyl rectangles to fold in for the handles Cut the Tote bag outside. Cut the pocket square. Cut the character square and iron under the edges, then top stitch on the pocket square. Outline the pocket square with Double Fold Bias tape. Topstitch the pocket square onto the outside tote fabric. Fold Your outside tote piece together rightside in and stitch it. Fold the bottom sew it will square on each end. Stitch accross and trim, both ends.  Turn tote out.. Now do the same to your lining that is a couple of inches longer at the top side, so when you have sewn it-you put it inside your tote and fold over the top and turn under the edge and topstitch.

  Moms Jacket came out quite nice! Just Front, back and sleeves and then add bias tape and frogs. All from GSTREETFABRICS Been doing a lot of this McCALLS 7332 VIEW B My mother is a small, so I got 2 yards and some Wide Double folded bias tape in the package Reversible pre quilted fabric from G Street Fabrics I put in Pockets and  Sew the seams with a wide satin zigzag and cut close.(for those of us, who do not have a serger, but like to be able to see inside without cringing). Outside edges around jacket and the end of sleeves, foldover double wide bias and top stitch on the edges Use any pocket piece and cut 4 pieces of same fabric.  Then see where your hand hits comfortably and pin the pocket pieces in the same part of the side seam front pieces and then back pieces, so when you put them together they match. check the bias tape look on the end of the sleeve before you start to sew it on the jacket Pin pocket pieces on testing location and look
