Sewing Sweater Dresses to Escape the Chill

Currently Making Sweater Dresses out of my Knits Stash to keep off the Chill
Always, I make the earrings and scarves and then the rest of the dress is fast.

The sweater dress I like is composed of many pattern pieces that I like.

The bodice from a combination of a dress pattern, and a sweater pattern and sleeve.
Simplicity 2189 dress and length and over lay of sweater pattern Kwik Sew 4069- for sweater fit at top and necklines.

The collar from another sweater pattern.
Kwik Sew 4217

The pockets from a pattern piece I keep out because of the size and shape that suits me.
Pocket pieces I like pinned to a burlap type upholstery fabric panel that I use for a back drop for repeat pieces and guitar charts and guitars.

Earrings are covered buttons, that I have pulled the shank out, covered and then glued an earring back on that I buy in bulk.

Earrings made from covered buttons after I pull the wire shanks out and cover and glue earring backs I buy in bulk.

Scarves are whatever is leftover when I cut out the dress.

Scarves can be Infinity scarves  (a long circle with a twist that can be doubled over your head) or just square end or slanted end scarves,
Use scarf jewelry or tie a knot or just let them hang

Infinity scarves are made by sewing a long tube, leaving an opening of a few inches in the middle.  Pull the end through so you are sewing right side to right side on the end (be sure to do one twist before you sew the ends together) then reach in the middle hole and turn the circle right side out and hand stitch the opening shut.

.
Sometimes I have an existing face mask that matches, if not I make a face mask, to stay safe, from all the current viruses.

masks lining are 200 count muslin and they consist of a filter pocket in the middle and two side panels.  This creates and 3 layer front, even if you do not put a filter in.
Plastic or wire nose insert keeps the mask up over your nose and adjustable soft elastic sides make your masks comfortable.
